In conjunction with International Women's Day, we're choosing to celebrate our community of women and their sentimental jewellery piece with our 'Real Women, Real Pieces' campaign. What better way to do so than to spotlight two incredible women who have forged their own path. First up is Laura Sharrad, chef and restaurateur. We sat down with Laura to chat about her first jewellery memory and put the spotlight on her stunning piece, the Tres Pedras Ring.
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.
My name is Laura Sharrad. I am the owner and operator of two Italian restaurants here in Adelaide. One is Fugazzi Bar and dining room and Nido bar pasta. They're both specialising in handmade pastas. That's what I grew up being taught by my two nonnas and my mother.
DESCRIBE YOUR JEWELLERY STYLE IN THREE WORDS.
Very minimal, classic and elegant.
WHAT IS YOUR FIRST JEWELLERY MEMORY?
My first jewellery memory, I feel like every Italian woman will understand this, but when I was growing up, the big trend was having your letter bracelet and it was a little white gold chain that you had all your letters on. You could add these beautiful little emojis or like a soccer ball or a bowl of pasta too. I still have mine. It's all literally covered in food. and totally not me, one day it'll come back in fashion.
WHY DO YOU LOVE YOUR CASSANDRA MAMONE PIECE?
My Cassandra Mamone piece is my engagement ring. I actually got it remodelled. So I started with my original stone and we added two other stones to the side of it to create the
Tres Pedras piece. And it is absolutely gorgeous. So my mother and both my nonnas actually have this style of ring. So I wanted to add to it and make it a bit more sentimental, and hopefully one day it can be a family heirloom that I can pass out.
WHAT'S ON YOUR CM WISHLIST?
Wishlist is everything. I feel like the next birthday anniversary and Christmas for the rest of my life is shopping with Cassandra. Let's be real. My husband is very aware of this, but I've always wanted a beautiful diamond bracelet that's just always been on my list, and I have definitely stalked her Instagram and there's definitely a beautiful tennis bracelet on there that has nice, fancy.
