Engagement Feature: Alexandra & Nathan
Our feature couple Alexandra and Nathan got engaged last month in Sydney.
Nathan planned the cutest proposal for Alexandra with a picnic overlooking the beautiful Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
Alexandra picked the stunning Oval Elegance Ring as her forever piece.
Cassandra designed the ring in 18ct white gold with an oval diamond. The ring is finished with 4 x fine cat claws on a knife-edge band.
We caught up with Nathan and Alexandra as they share their sweet proposal with us and their ring process.
HOW DID YOU BOTH MEET?
Short answer: We met at work and after a couple of weeks of subtle flirting and a long Friday lunch the rest is history.
WHAT DREW YOU TO CASSANDRA MAMONE FOR THE DESIGN OF YOUR ENGAGEMENT PIECE?
ALEX: I loved how classic and elegant all of Cassandra's designs were.
When Nathan mentioned it was maybe time to look at rings, I instantly knew I wanted to book in with Cassandra, she was the first and only place we went to.
It was so special to go in together and both have input on the ring, I picked my setting and cut and left the rest to Nath.
He chose the most stunning diamond to complete my ring and I cannot stop staring at it!

NATHAN: I had booked flights and accommodation to take Alex to Sydney for her birthday a few months prior, but kept it a surprise.
I thought it would be the perfect way to take her away without her thinking that I was going to propose.
I told her on the morning of her birthday to be ready early for breakfast and that we were going to walk through the Botanical Gardens to get there, however I had actually arranged a pop-up picnic in the gardens.
"As we arrived at the picnic I had Alex turn around to me proposing, overlooking the Harbour Bridge and Opera House."
ALEX: He could not have made it more perfect,
I went to take a photo of the Opera House and when I turned around he was down on one knee.
It was the most beautiful day that I will remember forever.
TELL US ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS OF YOUR RING, WHAT WAS THE PROCESS LIKE FOR YOU, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF THE PIECE?
ALEX: The ring is a knife edge band with white gold setting and an Oval cut diamond.
I love how classic and timeless the design is.
NATHAN: The process was very exciting, we both left our office at separate times and I then picked Alex up down the street to be discreet.
Once we arrived we immediately felt welcome and calm with the lovely support and knowledge we received.
The process was then made very easy after one or two emails from Cassandra and the ring was sold.
DO YOU HAVE ANY WEDDING PLANS YET?
Not yet, but we are aiming for the end of 2020 or early 2021.
