Wedding Celebrations: Alanna & Joe
We would like to introduce you to our latest bride and groom, Alanna and Joe. They recently tied the knot in February 2019 at Marybank Farm in Rostrevor, SA. A fun fact, our designer Cassandra Mamone was actually one of the bridesmaids at their wedding.
We had the pleasure of designing Alanna's engagement ring and both his and her wedding bands.
The stunning engagement ring was inspired by the Fiore ring and designed in 18ct yellow gold with a brilliant diamond centre.
It features a scallop designed side profile with a halo of round diamonds.
As for the wedding band Alanna opted for the Bezel Diamond Ring.
For Joe, we designed a matching yellow gold band with a brushed finish.
We caught up with Alanna and Joe, as they shared with us their romantic big day and creating their perfect rings. Congratulations Alanna and Joe!
Where & where did you get married - tell us a little bit about your special day?
We got married on the 2nd of February 2019 and had an afternoon wedding at Marybank Farm in Rostrevor, SA.
We had our ceremony in the gardens followed by a cocktail reception in the historic and rustic barn turned function room. Then we danced the night away on the fairy light verandah.
The morning of - I had hair and makeup done at my family home in Vale Park surrounded by my immediate family and bridesmaids, while Joe and his groomsmen got ready at the Watson in Walkerville.
Tell us about your engagement ring and wedding rings. What was the process like for you? What are your favourite aspects of the piece?
My engagement ring was inspired by the Fiore ring from the La Donna collection. Well over six months before Joe popped the question. I saw an Instagram post on the Cassandra Mamone page of the Fiore ring which I fell in LOVE with and turned to Joe and said:
"when and if we ever get engaged - this is the ring I want in yellow gold".
To my surprise, when the time came he remembered! I think the fact that I told him on our first or second date that if a guy proposed to me without a Cassandra Mamone ring I would have to say no.
With the wedding rings, I was able to get involved in the design process.
With my wedding band, I wanted a bit of a mix and match band and went for the Bezel Diamond Ring from the Australiana collection customised with diamonds I had from an older/damaged ring Joe gave me which had sentimental value (not Cassandra Mamone).
I loved that both engagement and wedding band rings have the milgrain around the diamonds and with Joe's ring we wanted to have subtle matching elements.
We sat down with Veronica at the studio on Hutt St and customised Joe's ring.
We ended with a beautiful yellow gold brushed band with milgrain inset edges. Both Cassandra and Veronica made the process really easy and fun.
What was your favourite part of the wedding day? Any particular highlights?
So hard to pick a favourite moment, there were so many!
Some highlights were being walked down the aisle by my dad and seeing Joe beaming with happiness and sneaking off during the reception to have sunset photos on the top of the hill among vineyards, our first dance to a Childish Gambino remix of 'So Into You'. We ate our stunning wedding cake, danced with our friends and family under the stars.
I also got to watch my beautiful bridesmaid, Cassandra catches my bouquet.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We've decided not to have a honeymoon straight after as we moved to Darwin two days after the wedding for work and a new adventure, but we look forward to going to Europe for a belated honeymoon in the near future.
Thank you for sharing your love story with us!
Until next time,
💕 The CM Team
