ENGAGEMENT FEATURE: MATTHEW AND BRITTNY

This gorgeous couple, Matthew and Brittny, met 11 years ago while at a martial arts gym. Now, they are planning on welcoming their first bub and are happily engaged to be married!

Matthew recently made his way over to the Cassandra Mamone studio to meet with Cassandra herself, and together they created Brittny's dream engagement ring.

To Brittny's delight, Matthew proposed (on her birthday might we add!) with a stunning 18-carat rose gold oval diamond, set into our Vino Engagement Ring design. One of our most beloved creations to date!

They have shared with us just how this picturesque proposal took place in sunny Brisbane, and we are swooning over the stunning photos. Congratulations to such a beautiful couple.

How did you both meet?

We met at a martial arts gym in 2009. We started training together and eventually started dating 2013. 11 years later, we are still training together, and are expecting our first child in January.

What drew you to Cassandra Mamone for the design of your engagement piece?

Brittny...

I came across Cassandra’s work years ago, by chance, as she was working in an office in the same building as I was, on Melbourne St. I was immediately drawn to her stunning pieces with rose gold (which is my fav). I would occasionally send Matty pics of her rings on Instagram. After 7 years he finally got the hint.

Share with us your engagement story.

Brittny...

We travelled to Brisbane in October for a weekend getaway and to celebrate my birthday. Matty planned an afternoon for us both for my Birthday, in which he told me that we would be having a late lunch at the botanic gardens. As we walked through the gardens, Matty stopped us at a private lawn area, which he had hired, along with the most beautiful set-up from a wedding decorator. I still thought we were having a private picnic for my birthday, but he got down on one knee and then I started crying.

Tell us all about the details of your ring, what was the process like for you, what are your favourite aspects of the piece?

Matty...

Getting the piece created was so easy. I booked in to see Cassandra for a design consultation, with a few ideas of what I thought Britt might like. To be honest the details I gave to Cassandra were quite vague, but she was experienced enough to know what I was after, and she quickly sketched a few ideas with suggestions.

Britt is in love with the beautiful oval diamond, the half-set Vino band, and the rose gold setting. Its tasteful and unique, and looks stunning on her finger. We often both stare in amazement at how beautiful the light reflecting off the diamond is.

Do you have any wedding plans yet?

No wedding plans just yet. We are due in January, so we will think about something, maybe in 2022.
