#SHESAIDYES: LAUREN & LUKE

Luke and I met through work. He is an engineer with Qantas and I am a flight attendant. We were good friends for a couple of years before we got together. We used to go to wineries together and catch up for a wine and pizza. Then one night in 2019 I went over to Luke's house to play poker and watch a movie and Luke told me how he felt about me and the rest is history. We have been together ever since.

I have been following Cassandra Mamone on Instagram for a few years now and I have always loved her style. I saw her Marquise diamond ring a few months before we got engaged and I saved it to my Instagram, it was the one ring I kept coming back to! 

Luke and I decided to go to New Zealand in May. This holiday was really needed for us as we had been going through IVF for the past couple of years, we both needed a holiday to escape and get back to the things we love doing. About two months before we went away we found out our 4th round of IVF had worked, we are expecting a little boy in November! So this holiday was already extra special! The day Luke proposed was absolutely beautiful. We went to Milford Sound for the day, we saw dolphins, waterfalls and seals. The weather was perfect. To top off a perfect day we went to a little Indian restaurant in Te Anau, little did we know that the southern lights were happening as we ate! When we went outside the sky was full of colours, pink, green and purple. 

We sat by the lake for a coupe of hours. It was absolutely magical! Unfortunately Luke didn't have the ring on him while we were outside haha! So when we got back to our hotel room he popped the question. And of course I said yes. Luke proposed to me with my great grandmother's ring and then when we got back to Australia we had our appointment with Jemma at Cassandra Mamone.

I have the Marquise Elegance ring in 18ct yellow gold. I love how dainty it is and how it is a little bit different to a normal cut. The process was seamless. We had an appointment with Jemma, she took us through the process and explained the differences between the grades of diamonds. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. About 6 weeks later we went and picked up the ring and I am obsessedddddd!! Since wearing my stunning ring I have had so many compliments on it because it's not a cut that you see often. 

We would love to get married in 2027, our baby boy will be two by then and we would absolutely love for him to be in the wedding. But who knows we might have another baby by then so we are just going with the flow! We are pretty relaxed people so we are thinking of just getting married under a big gumtree somewhere and then having a big party, nothing too fancy!

We are so grateful for all Cassandra Mamone team for creating us this gorgeous ring. We both adore it! We would highly recommend getting any jewellery piece through them! We will be back to get our wedding bands for sure!
