WEDDING CELEBRATIONS: SHARNI & MATT
Sharni and Matt will be celebrating one year of wedded bliss this coming November, and what better way to commemorate this milestone than to reminisce about their incredible wedding day. To mark their first anniversary, the couple is taking us on a journey down memory lane, sharing the moments that made their celebration unforgettable. Read more about their special day below.
HOW DID YOU BOTH MEET?
We met in 2012, inside a Taxi after a night out
WHERE & WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED - TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR SPECIAL DAY.
We got married at Simon Hackett Winery, Mclaren Vale SA on 25/11/2023. It was such a beautiful day filled with our family, friends and our dog Frankie.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR ENGAGEMENT AND WEDDING RINGS. WHAT WAS THE PROCESS LIKE FOR YOU? WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF THE PIECE?
We love our custom pieces made by Cassandra Mamone. Matt picked the Engagement ring with the help of the team at Cassandra Mamone and found the process to be excellent. With the engagement ring being the beautiful Rose Gold Perlina band with Oval Diamond, Sharni opted for something more simple for the Wedding band.
Sharni went for the Alessa band, Rose Gold and knife edge profile. Matt's wedding band is a black zirconium ring with a brushed matte finish. As a special touch, Sharni's wedding band has the wedding date in roman numerals engraved on the inside. Adele was amazing at supporting us through this process. She was so knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE WEDDING DAY?
The ceremony was so special and completely true to us. It was the perfect mixture of love and humour, surrounded by all of our favourite people. It was a dream. We then partied the night away with great entertainment with DJ, Sax and Bongos.
ANY PARTICULAR HIGHLIGHTS?
Sharni is a musician and has worked in the Wedding industry for many years, so it was special to have her friends sing her down the isle and have Live music throughout every aspect of the day.

Half way through the ceremony we realised that Sharni's wedding ring had been left behind. Sharni actually used her Mother's wedding band in the ceremony which was hilarious and turned into a running joke for the entire day and months later. Thankfully, the ring was in the bag, in the car and whilst signing the registry the bridesmaids got it and it was on her finger by the time we were announced as Husband and Wife.
ANY HONEYMOON PLANS?
After the wedding in November 2023 we had our Honeymoon in Fiji. We stayed at the Sheraton Tokoriki and had the most amazing/relaxing time. We are also going to Europe for Honeymoon 2.0 at the end of this month which we are very excited for.
