ENGAGEMENT FEATURE: BRITTANY & ANASTASIA

Brittany and Anastasia found each other on the netball court back in 2017. In May, Brittany got down on one knee and proposed to Anastasia with a dreamy Morganite Oval Elegance ring in rose gold. Here, they share with us their love story and their journey to finding their dream ring. 

HOW DID YOU BOTH MEET?

We met mid 2017 - Our work was holding a sports round robin and the Netball team needed an extra player last minute - it was the first time I had even met Brittany, but I saw her and immediately forced her to play. Five minutes lates, Britt had to be carried off the court as she had injured herself. From that day, we were inseparable. 

WHAT DREW YOU TO CASSANDRA MAMONE FOR THE DESIGN OF YOUR ENGAGEMENT PIECE?

We had been looking at engagement rings for some time, but couldn't find a jeweller that we were drawn to. Brittany and I are super picky when it comes to jewellery and so we wanted rings that were super unique to us, and something that no one else had. One night we were watching the Bachelor and it said that Cassandra had her own jewellery company, so we thought "let's check this out". Instantly we fell in love with her style and her engagement rings.

A few months prior to the engagement, Brittany had to move interstate for work where I had planned to follow later in the year. It was tough trying to visit each other due to the COVID outbreak, but there was one weekend in May where I was able to travel up to see Brittany.  It was Saturday 22 May 2021 at 16:30 in the late afternoon and the weather was amazing. I knew something was up because Brittany was acting very strange and she had bought my FAVOURITE ice cream but kept it a secret until we got there.

She kept looking around and trying to start weird conversations. That’s when she asked me to stand up, to which she dropped to one knee and popped the question. Britt’s beautiful friend Mollie Gray from @thewilderpeople had driven down from Newcastle just for the occasion and shot these beautiful pictures for us. It was such a beautiful moment. Funnily enough that was the first and last weekend we were able to visit each other until I moved up a few months later, the timing was perfect!

TELL US ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS OF YOUR RING, WHAT WAS THE PROCESS LIKE FOR YOU, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF THE PIECE?

We booked a consult at Cassandra Mamone in Melbourne and admittedly went into the appointment wanting rings that were completely different to the ones we have now.

We are forever grateful we visited the store in person and were able to physically try on many different designs of rings. What stuck out to us were the beautiful wedding bands and this helped us with our decision for our engagement rings.

We both went with the plain but beautiful knife edge band and chose unique coloured stones. We were worried that as the rings were being designed for us and the stones were being sourced that this might end up costing a fortune, but to our surprise the price was completely reasonable for our forever rings. Communication was fantastic, and delivery time was spot on.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and it made the engagement a smooth process.

DO YOU HAVE ANY WEDDING PLANS YET?

Yes! We have started organising our wedding with all the big things planned! We will be getting married in the Adelaide Hills at the beginning of 2023. We are super excited to get our wedding bands from Cassandra Mamone and capture some amazing memories.
