MY WEDDING DIARY #4: WILL YOU ACCEPT THIS ROSE?

Last month, in the whirlwind of wedding planning and designing, I was treated to the most unexpected and thoughtful surprise — my very own bachelorette dinner orchestrated by my amazing girlfriends.

I was told to have my hair and makeup done and be ready at a certain time. Glammed up, my best friend Ange arrived to pick me up - I had no idea where we were going, which made the surprise even better.

When I walked in, I was floored as the girls said "SURPRISE"

The stunning location – Ruby Red Flamingo, Adelaide

Two long tables scattered with red roses and golden accents — and in the centre of each, little tags that read “Will you accept this rose?” 

A nod to my past on The Bachelor, and a wink to the woman I am now: loved, held, and surrounded by my forever people. It was thoughtful, hilarious, romantic, and unforgettable. This was all set up by my good friend, Alyse Vozzo, a magician in event styling, from The Stylist's Guide.

Now… let’s talk about the dress.

A week before the dinner, I had a complete meltdown. I’d bought the most gorgeous merlot dress online. It arrived, I tried it on, and… it was a size too small. No zips. No mercy. Just me, squeezed in, stuck, and on the verge of a bridal breakdown.

It was so tight I looked like a prawn, arms in the air as Charlie peeled it off of me, bless him. Later, he watched me snacking on BBQ shapes as I ordered the dress in the next size up. 

The second dress arrived — after the bachelorette dinner, of course. So, did I still wear the original one? Yes. Did I breathe? Not really. Did I eat pasta? Absolutely.

It was such an amazing night, I was celebrated and loved, and the girls pulled it all off without me knowing anything.
