WEDDING CELEBRATIONS: BRITTNY & MATTHEW

We first featured Matthew and Brittny back in 2020 for their engagement. Matthew proposed to Brittny with a stunning 18-carat rose gold oval diamond, set into our Vino Engagement Ring design. The lovebirds tied the knot in November 2022 with a beautiful outdoor ceremony with the Belair National Park as the backdrop. Today, they walked us down memory lane to look back on their special day.

HOW DID YOU BOTH MEET?

We met at a taekwondo gym in 2009 where Brittny was the star-girl and I was a young trouble-maker. We became friends early on and we eventually started dating in 2013/2014.

WHERE AND WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED - TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR SPECIAL DAY?

We got married on the 5th of November, at the Joseph Fisher Reserve in Belair National Park. It's an outdoor area, covered by the shade of five large pine-trees. We got married at around 4:00pm, and the weather was a perfectly mild 23, with slight clouds but no wind or rain. I mentioned the weather, because a few weeks prior we did a dry-run rehearsal at the park, and it was during a week of torrential rain and wind. There was mud everywhere, and we were concerned that the weather would be similar on our wedding day. Fortunately for us that wasn't the case.

After the ceremony, we headed to the newly-refurbished Marion Hotel, where we held the reception in one of the private function areas. There were fireworks, smoke machines, kickboxing championship belts on display. It was a wonderful night full of love.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR ENGAGEMENT AND WEDDING RINGS. WHAT WAS THE PROCESS LIKE FOR YOU? WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF THE PIECE?

Brittny and I have our full set of rings from Cass. The engagement ring contains a large oval cut diamond set on top of a half-set vino band in rose gold. The wedding rings are also rose gold, with Brittny's ring engraved with the wedding date. My ring is a simple rose gold band.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE WEDDING DAY?

My favourite part of the day was the reception, and having the opportunity to enjoy the company of all of our loved ones. I remember taking it all in at one point and just feeling so content and happy.

ANY PARTICULAR HIGHLIGHTS?

I think Brittny and I would agree that there was a standout highlight - which was the bridal party's entrance. I could never put into words what occurred that would do it justice - you have to see the video for yourself.
