WEDDING FEATURE: ELLEN & LUKE
Ellen and Luke first met each other back in Year 11. The high school sweethearts didn't start dating until after they graduated. In December 2021, Ellen and Luke tied the knotĀ at the beautiful South Australian Museum. Luke came to us looking to create a custom engagement ring for Ellen. Cassandra designed a unique salt and pepper diamond engagement ring with two accent diamonds in white gold as well as their wedding bands. Ellen and Luke walked us down the memory lane as they looked back on their big day.Ā

HOW DID YOU BOTH MEET?
We both met at high school in our year 11 home class. Our relationship didnāt start there, it wasnāt until two years after graduating we started dating. Once we didnāt see each other every day at school it was a case of āyou donāt know what you have until its goneā. It also took a while for Luke to break out of the āfriend zoneā.
WHERE & WHEN DID YOU GET MARRIED - TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR SPECIAL DAY?
We got married at the SA Museum on North Terrace. Directly out the back of the Museum are two distinct outdoor areas which each held the ceremony and reception. It was a fantastic spot and even though it was situated in the city, it was a lovely private venue.Ā
We got married in late December 2021 which meant the weather during the day was a little warm for both of us and our guests, however at night the temperature was perfect for an outdoor wedding.
Our day of course started separate at each of our parents' houses where we were accompanied by our wedding party, close friends and family. Ellen's day was a bit more hectic than Luke's but we both agree it seemed to go very quickly!Ā
TELL US ABOUT YOUR ENGAGEMENT AND WEDDING RINGS. WHAT WAS THE PROCESS LIKE FOR YOU? WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF THE PIECE?
The process in organising both the engagement ring and wedding rings was fantastic. Luke reached out to Cassandra Mamone to help design and procure the ring for the proposal and he came to the designer with a rough idea of what he thought Ellen would love and he was able to sit with Veronica and look at varying designs and diamonds to help design a unique piece.
Ellenās engagement ring is quite unique as it is a salt and pepper diamond with a white gold band two white diamonds either side of the main piece. It was exactly what Ellen wanted and given its uniqueness it still is a talking point when people notice it. Ellenās wedding ring is more traditional and is a thin white gold band with a pattern of small diamonds embedded into it. Each piece compliments the other extremely well.
Lukeās favourite aspect is its simplicity but its uniqueness. The ring is a lovely white gold ring with an off-centre indent around the ring. Luke never wore jewellery before but now canāt go anywhere without his ring.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE WEDDING DAY?
Our favourite part was seeing each other for the first time when Ellen was walking down the aisle. We know it's clichĆ© but it was such a rush to know the moment had finally arrived. As anyone who has been married before will know, it's such an emotional build up and the last 24hrs you can't see your partner. Seeing Ellen walked down the aisle with a huge grin on her face calmed Luke significantly and it was a perfect start to our dream wedding. That moment set the tone for the rest of the day and night and it started the proceedings in what was the best day of our lives.Ā
ANY PARTICULAR HIGHLIGHTS?
Our favourite highlight was Ellen's mum deciding to ride a Beam electric scooter through the reception with her dress flowing behind her. The perks of being married in the city!Ā
Another highlight was being the last leave our own wedding and walking down North Terrace to our hotel which had fairy lights in all the trees. The city was so quiet as well so it was a bit of a surreal moment given it was finally just us together.Ā
WHERE DID YOU GO FOR YOUR HONEYMOON?Ā
We spent a few nights away each in the Clare Valley and Barossa Valley. It was great to get away together and a great time of year to travel in SA (early January). It was good to spend some time in Clare where we hadn't spent much time before and we got engaged in the Barossa, so it held a lovely sentimental feeling for us.
TESTIMONIAL
"The entire process was made easy and you could tell Veronica really wanted to make Luke feel comfortable in his selection and match his budget. The process was so seamless and comforting we decided of course to then get our wedding rings done with Cassandra Mamone as well."Ā
