Known for their exquisite beauty and distinctive glow Pearls have been the symbol of purity and wisdom for thousands of years.They are the oldest known gemstone to humans, dating back as far as ancient Greece and are the only gemstone to come from a living creature.
DID YOU KNOW?
Saltwater pearls are found in oysters, while freshwater pearls are produced by mussels. Freshwater pearls can form much quicker than Saltwater ones, which sometimes takes up to four years!
PEARL VARIETIES
Pearls come in a dazzling array of many beautiful tones. Freshwater pearls are the commonly seen white or pink toned, while saltwater pearls have four sub categories; Akoya, South Sea, Tahitian and Keshi that can vary in hues from white, gold, green and even black pearls.
