ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT DIAMOND SETTING

You've selected your beautiful diamond shape and carat weight, and now you have to decide on the setting. So, what IS a setting?

Setting refers to how the diamonds or gemstones are placed and set into your chosen metal. Classic or modern? Bold or unique? Your engagement ring should always compliment your personality, style and life. Here is your guide to our most loved ring settings, from a classic solitaire to a unique halo.

WHAT IS SOLITAIRE?

The solitaire setting features one single centre diamond, the focus being on that stunning diamond. Any diamond shape will look stunning in this classic setting. While oval and round diamonds have been the most popular choice amongst our clients, we've been seeing a lot more marquise and pear shapes as the diamond of choice.

WHAT IS HALO?

A halo setting features a stunning centre diamond surrounded by dazzling smaller diamonds. It often gives the illusion of the centre stone being larger. Your diamond halo can be the same shape as the centre diamond or you can pick a different shape such as pear-cut halo circling a round diamond.

WHAT IS THREE STONE?

Since Meghan Markle was spotted with her three-stone engagement ring, this setting has been getting a lot of love from the brides. Three-stone setting is essentially three diamonds that are set into a ring. Some couples opt for this style of ring as each stone represents the journey of their relationship - the past, present and the future. This style of setting is also great if you cannot decide on a particular diamond cut.
