Engagement Feature: Sam & Bec
Proposals are a special occasion for every couple, they mark the beginning of your very own forever.
Congratulations to Sam and Bec who were recently engaged with a custom engagement ring.
Sam came to us looking to create a forever piece for Bec.
He worked closely with our team and Cassandra created a beautiful 18ct white gold Emerald diamond ring with a pavé diamond halo.
We caught up with Sam to find out more about his proposal to Bec.
HOW DID YOU BOTH MEET?
Bec and I both met at the Ramsgate Hotel in Henley Square through a mutual friend of ours and immediately hit it off.
Our friend likes to think she played matchmaker but we were pretty drawn to each other straight away (and the tequila we drank helped haha).
We started dating a couple of weeks later.
Fast forward 5 and a half years and we've now been living together for well over 2 years!
What drew you to Cassandra Mamone for the design of your engagement piece?
Over the last 6 or so months Bec has been not so subtly showing me plenty of rings from Cassandra Mamone's Instagram page that she loves.
Although I had already been thinking about getting a ring to surprise her with on our upcoming European holiday, this made the decision to go through Cassandra Mamone a no brainer.
Share with us your engagement ring story.
Bec's family is of German heritage and she still has plenty of family living over there, so proposing there had sentimental value I thought.
We arrived in Munich in mid-December and were travelling up to Hamburg just before Christmas to spend the holidays with her family.
While we were in Munich getting ready to explore the city for the first time, I mentioned that we both deserved this holiday and wanted it to be super memorable.
I then got her to cover her eyes because I "had a surprise for her".
"When she opened her eyes I was on one knee and most importantly, she said yes!"
Tell us all the details about your ring, what was the process like for you, what are your favourite aspects of the piece?
The ring I chose was the 18ct white gold emerald engagement ring. It has a pavé set halo and a milgrain edge.
The process was super easy as I had an idea on what I was after before arriving for my consultation, but still was
obviously nervous being a relatively clueless bloke!
My nerves were settled quickly because I was shown multiple options and different ways to set up her ring.
I chose a knife-edge band because it looked super sleek but also didn't take away from the centerpiece of the ring, the diamond itself!
As for a favourite part of the ring?
"The emerald shape itself is beautiful and I still catch myself staring at it sparkling."
Do you have any wedding plans yet?
As for wedding plans, it's still early stages!
Planning an engagement party at the moment to celebrate with family and friends, but also looking at some beautiful
wineries to host our wedding at, with us both loving the green grass and vineyard backdrop.
Nothing suits us more as a couple! Super excited for the future ️
