Wedding Celebrations: Laura & Josh

It's Valentine's Day week and what better way to celebrate than a celebration of love.

This week, we're celebrating our clients Laura and Josh's wedding.

Josh came to us in 2018 looking to create a custom engagement ring for Laura. He proposed with a sparkly Oval diamond ring with a diamond halo.

And last year, we had the pleasure of designing their wedding bands as well.

We caught up with Laura and Josh as we look back at their magical day in Noosa, Queensland.

We're feeling all the love.

Where & when did you get married - tell us a little bit about your special day?

We got married in Noosa, Queensland on August 30th 2019.

Noosa has always been our favourite holiday spot in Australia, so for many years we always said that this would be the spot we would get married.

We knew from then that we always wanted a coastal, modern romantic feel to our wedding.

Having our home near the seaside we knew that the styling had to depict who we were as a couple.

We came across the wonderful girls from Style Le Aisle on Instagram, that helped us create our vision.

I knew from when we met them, that I had all the confidence that they were able to create something magical for us.

We were very lucky to have our close friends and family all fly up to sunny Queensland to share this special moment with us.

We stayed on Hasting Street at Noosa Main beach at the Seahaven, where my bridesmaids and myself stayed and got ready the morning of the wedding.

Our ceremony was at Maison La Plage grove and our reception was on Noosa River at the Noosa Boathouse.

We wanted to provide something a little bit unique for our guests, so we decided to provide canapes on a sunset boat cruise from the ceremony to the Boathouse.

Our bridal party also travelled on a private boat to the reception which gave us some time to relax and enjoy ourselves all together.

"Having a destination wedding gave us a relaxed feel,

where we felt we were on a big holiday all week with our guests! "

Tell us about your engagement ring/wedding rings. What was the process like for you? What are your favourite aspects of the piece?

Josh worked with Cassandra on my engagement ring and he said Cassandra was very easy to work with, that made him feel at ease with the whole process.

She was able to design the engagement ring with a 4-week turnaround.

My beautiful engagement ring is a white gold diamond halo on a knife-edge band.

It was lovely to work together with Cassandra in her studio on our wedding bands.

I decided to go with a white gold diamond bezel that completed my set.

What was your favourite moment from the wedding day?

I have a few special moments of the day. The first being when Dad first saw me for the first time in my dress.

Also, when mum was reading the letter I wrote to her and seeing the emotion on her face.

The final moment that sticks with me is Josh's face as I walked down the aisle.

The reception was definitely a highlight for both of us where we got to celebrate with all of our fave people with good food and lots of dancing. Everyone certainly left with sore feet.

Favourite details of the day?

Paige Tuzee designed our invites and all of our signage for our wedding.

I loved our invites that she designed using her minimal style calligraphy and hand-illustrated magnolia.

She continued her personalised calligraphy throughout our signage.

Emilia, from Bloodwood Botanica created such breath-taking floral designs for our day. She is one talented lady that knows how to create such unique romantic pieces.

Emilia created a fresh colour scheme of white subtle pops of greens and undertones of nudes. She included lots of luxe flower types such as orchids, gypsophila & roses.

My favourite piece that she created was our cloud altars using Oak Lab design stands.

They created a soft romantic feel to the ceremony that was nestled in the Noosa Woods surrounded by lush green nature.

Our cakes were something else!

The talented Kendra, from Wild Child Cakes created three different cakes using a geode design.

We had a Hazelnut Chocolate with Nutella, Banana and Salted Caramel and Lemon and Lime.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Josh and I jet set off to Europe one month after our wedding. We visited Paris, Switzerland, Italy in the Amalfi Coast and Barcelona to finish our trip.

It was so lovely to get away just the two of us and enjoy some time together.

Switzerland was breathtaking where we hiked up to one of the tallest peaks in Europe, Piz Gloria, Schilthorn.

We enjoyed the sunshine, cocktails and sailing on the boats from Positano to Capri Islands.

Any other highlights?

I'm a Junior Primary school teacher, where I teach R/1's.

In the lead up to the wedding, my wonderful little bunch of students organised a mock wedding at my school where I wore a classic '80's wedding dress for the day.

They were all given 'secret' invitations to the mock wedding and dressed up in their best attire for the event.

It was very sweet! Our classroom was transformed into a wedding ceremony where each of them brought in a bunch of flowers to decorate the classroom, so it had a special wedding feel to it.
