Engagement Feature: Siobhan & Kane

Siobhan and Kane first met when they were both teenagers, sparks flew immediately and they've been together ever since! Back in May, Kane planned a surprise proposal in picturesque Tasmania. HOW DID YOU BOTH MEET?

We met as teenagers and when we were sixteen and seventeen in 2012 at a country party in the Mid North and we've been together ever since! We have been each other's biggest fans tackling life as a team from finishing high school, graduating university, moving in together, getting a dog, buying a house and now we are engaged! 

WHAT DREW YOU TO CASSANDRA MAMONE FOR THE DESIGN OF YOUR ENGAGEMENT PIECE?

Kane chose Cassandra Mamone because he wanted to support a local South Australian business and speak to someone in person and he knew Cassandra Mamone was a well known, contemporary jewellery designer so he knew the quality would be great. He knew I loved classic and timeless pieces so he was confident Cassandra Mamone would be the perfect choice!

We were on holiday in Tasmania and on the 18th of May 2022, we had a beautiful day hiking and exploring Freycinet National Park. In the afternoon, we got cosy in our AirBnb in Coles Bay and started cooking homemade pasta, drinking Tasmanian red wine and devouring dark chocolate. After dinner, Kane got on one knee and I was so surprised!

It was absolutely perfect, I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful moment - Kane later told me he had no idea when he was going to pop the question but us cooking together after a day of exploring and getting cosy was just so 'us'. We spent the rest of our 10 day trip around Tassie celebrating in our newly engaged bubble!

TELL US ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS OF YOUR RING, WHAT WAS THE PROCESS LIKE FOR YOU, AND WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF THE PIECE?

My ring is the Oval Elegance Engagement Ring in yellow gold with cat claw setting and half round band. I am absolutely in love with it and I keep looking down at my hand thinking - is this real life? I love the simplicity and elegance of this piece, it's timeless and classic yet a statement and will go with everything. I don't think I will ever get over this stunning and sparkly piece! Kane found the process in his words, 'fun and exciting'. The Cassandra Mamone team was very accomodating with Kane's FIFO work and getting the ring completed just in time before our departure of the trip. 

DO YOU HAVE ANY WEDDING PLANS YET?

No wedding plans as of yet but we are starting to explore ideas, we are still looking for the perfect venue to host a casual and fun day.

We cannot wait to design our wedding bands with Cassandra Mamone to complement my engagement ring!
