Douglas knew Ebony loved all CASSANDRA MAMONE ring designs and approached us to create a stunning custom piece, inspired by our Soul Ring, with a sweet story behind it. During a 'paint and sip' date night, Doug popped the question. Read their love story below.....
HOW DID YOU BOTH MEET?
E: We both work for the same company, and although we started out being friends and doing the general work chit chat kind of thing, we couldn't deny that there was a little something more there! Once we had our first drinks (aka a date) we have been inseparable since!
D: We met at the work Christmas show, which Eb had organised - I was only a casual employee at the time. When she saw my name on the initial invite list, she assumed I was 60 years old and wanted to leave me off due to budget issues. Luckily she didn't!
WHAT DREW YOU TO CASSANDRA MAMONE FOR THE DESIGN OF YOUR PIECE?
E: I have followed Cassandra's work for a long time and dropped several hints to Doug over the years that when the time was right, the place to go was too Cass because I adore all of her pieces!
D: Eb dropped a lot of hints about Cassandra's work and her page. It worked well for me because I loved the designs she was showing me.

E: We hadn't had a date night for a little while, and we both aren't hugely fond of busy crowded restaurants so Doug came up with this idea that we should do an at home "Paint and Sips" night, and we would have some home made burgers, a bottle of wine and then sit down with our canvas', brushes and paints and with an hour on the clock we had to do a secret but abstract portrait of one another, with a the reveal to be at the end of the hour. Meanwhile, I painted an awful portrait of Doug with a mullet and he was creating a masterpiece that read "Will You Marry Me?". Little did I know he had organised a ring and this whole plan weeks prior, and very successfully hid the whole thing from me! It was probably the best proposal I could have ever imagined, and most importantly our 2 dogs were able to be with us in that special moment.
D: What Eb said! I'm so glad that it worked out the way it did!
TELL US ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS OF YOUR RING, WHAT WAS THE PROCESS LIKE FOR YOU, AND WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE ASPECTS OF THE PIECE.
E: I adore this ring, I cannot believe that Doug came up with this idea on his own and it was brought to life so eloquently and with such uniqueness. The three diamonds represent our 2 pups and me, and the statement is the beautiful Citrine which is Dougs birthstone. I love just staring at it, I am so lucky.
D: I had always wanted to use my birthstone in the engagement ring, as I felt as if I was wholeheartedly giving Ebony a piece of me that signifies the start of the rest of our life as one. One main diamond to represent Eb, and two for our 2 little puppers. The process was so easy, much easier than I anticipated - Kalyca was excellent to deal with! I just couldn't be happier with the final result as what I had envisioned was brought to life.
DO YOU HAVE ANY WEDDING PLANS YET?
E: We sure do! We can't wait to tie the knot and create more amazing pieces with Cassandra for our wedding bands.
D: I can't wait to marry Eb - the sooner, the better!
HOW WAS YOUR CASSANDRA MAMONE EXPERIENCE?
D: I would highly recommend Cassandra Mamone Jewellery to anyone looking to get the knee dirty. It was such an incredibly easy process that was sorted through emails, which suited me due to my working life. Kalyca was excellent throughout the whole process, and I am so thankful to her for helping me create something that Eb adores!
E: From a woman's perspective I adore the fact that it was easy for Doug to do without me finding out! It totally took me by surprise and my ring is so stunning, its a perfect reflection of Doug and suits us perfectly. The team have kept in touch as well and its nice to know that as a customer and client we are appreciated from start to end, and they are just as excited to see us get married as we are!
