Jessica and Matthew met on the dance floor at The Woolshed after unknowingly being at the same bar earlier that night. They exchanged details, and six and a half years later, the rest is history.

Jessica discovered Cassandra Mamone on Instagram and was immediately drawn to the unique band designs. During her appointment, she shared her love of heart-shaped rings,  a style she’d loved since childhood and one her mum also wears- and together they created a ring that felt truly personal. HOW DID YOU BOTH MEET?

Funnily enough, we met on the dance floor at the Woolshed. It turns out we were both at the Alma beforehand but didn't actually meet until later that night. 

We know this because Matt is in the background of a group photo of my friends, taken at the Alma! I gave Matt my details that night, and the rest is history. We’ve now been together for six and a half years.

WHAT DREW YOU TO CASSANDRA MAMONE FOR THE DESIGN OF YOUR ENGAGEMENT RING? 

I first came across Cassandra Mamone on Instagram, and what immediately drew me in were the unique bands. I was so excited to see designs that were different and unlike anything I’d seen before. While I loved many of the designs, it wasn’t until my appointment with Jemma that everything came together. I shared my love of heart-shaped rings, and from there we created the final design together. I remember being a young girl, maybe four or five, wearing a plastic pink heart ring and feeling so fancy, and my mum also has a heart ring, so it truly felt meant to be.

I was completely surprised by the engagement. We were driving to Melbourne for Lady Gaga, and since I had made the hotel booking, I had absolutely no idea what was coming. Walking into the room to find it decorated with petals, candles and heart-shaped balloons was so unexpected and special. Matt even played it cool beforehand, pretending he couldn't remember the name of the hotel when a friend asked - all while he had organised these beautiful details. He got down on one knee, and it was absolutely perfect. I honestly can't stop looking at my beautiful ring.
